Baseboards: Attention!
With the need to load the layout in the back of a van to get it to Scaleforum looming, I have been pressing ahead with the creation of travelling boxes for the boards.
Despite being pretty simple, they do take a long time to make but those for the main visible boards are at least all now complete – and here they are on parade!

While I am aware of traveling boxes as a concept, I have seen only one description of a construction method. Is this the “wrap around” sort that turns two inward facing boards into a box? Are there other approaches one should consider?
Hi Mark,
A pair of the boards are held together facing each other in the manner you describe – which obviously makes efficient use of space and effort. The two boards (and one side of the casing) can be seen in this earlier post https://highlandmiscellany.com/2019/05/19/boxing-clever/.
I concluded that the remaining boards were too big or two awkwardly shaped (obviously you need matching pairs to do them as a combined pair) to do this; hence they have a surround box each.
This means for the six boards I have, there are five boxes.
